Light as Infrastructure and Experience: Zumtobel Expands Portfolio for a Wide Range of Applications. With acoustically effective solutions, adaptive safety lighting, cleanroom luminaires designed for hygiene, and art-oriented spotlights, Zumtobel demonstrates how light shapes spatial perception, safety, hygiene, and visual experience.
Holistic interior comfort with acoustic elements
In open-plan offices, classrooms, healthcare facilities, and hospitality spaces, concrete, glass, and high ceilings intensify noise. Zumtobel’s new acoustic elements create a calm, focused atmosphere. At the heart of the portfolio are elements in six basic shapes: rectangular baffles, rectangular panels or sails, and square, round, triangular, and hexagonal formats. All elements meet fire classification B-s1, d0 in accordance with EN 13501-1.
The portfolio comprises three lines: Essentials, Advanced, and Premium. Essentials use an open-structured felt backing in subtle shades of gray with up to 30 percent recycled content. Advanced combines an anthracite base felt with a colored top layer in 17 tones with a mélange effect. Premium features 40-millimeter-thick elements with high absorption values, 17 colors and four printed motifs. Acoustic accessories for SLOTLIGHT round acoustic, LIGHT FIELDS III acoustic, and PANOS III R 200 acoustic add sound absorption to existing luminaires. The large-area CIELUMA luminous ceiling brings a daylight-like ambience to interior spaces while also absorbing sound. The TRAMAO pendant luminaire brings together light, materials, and color, forming a foundation for cohesive designs in office, hospitality, and education projects.
SMARTSIGN: Dynamic escape route guidance with Full-HD display
SMARTSIGN expands Zumtobel’s safety lighting portfolio with a directional emergency exit sign luminaire. It enables dynamic escape route guidance and directs people to the safest exit for the specific emergency situation. At its core is a Full-HD display with individually programmable content. In addition to pre-installed safety symbols in accordance with ISO 7010, users can display additional text in multiple languages.
The luminaire offers a viewing distance of 38 meters and a luminance of more than 500 candela per square meter in accordance with DIN 4844, making it ideal for large-scale facilities, complex floor plans and multi-story buildings. Using the PROset app for iOS and Android, each SMARTSIGN can be individually addressed and configured. Users define which pictogram is displayed in different situations (normal operation, emergency mode, or in a hazard situation) and which dimming levels apply in mains and emergency mode; they also have access to statistics such as test results and operating hours.
SMARTSIGN works in tandem with the nBox group battery system, which can cover areas of up to 1,600 square meters. Compliant with DIN EN 50171, nBox acts as a central power supply and connects SMARTSIGN to systems such as fire alarm installations. With the SMARTescape software license, nBox becomes the backbone of a dynamic emergency lighting system. Changes to the escape route plan are implemented through a web or app interface, without structural modifications. A steel housing, die-cast aluminum mounting accessories, a Full-HD display with long-life LEDs, IP40 dust protection and compliance with EN 17951 and DIN 14036 ensure robust construction.
CROSSIGN PRO: Safety lighting with architectural appeal
CROSSIGN PRO addresses safety requirements in hybrid buildings where office and production areas converge and escape routes need to remain flexible. Its slim housing with transparent light guide creates a floating appearance and integrates seamlessly into architecture-driven lighting concepts.
The product family covers three viewing distances: 11 meters (CSP 55), 24 meters (CSP 120) and 32 meters (CSP 160). Pictograms in accordance with ISO 7010 are available as accessories and can be configured via VIVA.
Thanks to the optional ERI spots, CROSSIGN PRO serves as both safety sign and emergency luminaire in one. This reduces the number of additional emergency luminaires required and significantly cuts installation and commissioning effort – backed by a major performance upgrade over the previous model. The spots on the edges, with two escape lenses and one spot lens, can be continuously rotated 360 degrees; selection and activation are carried out via DIP switches. IP65-rated versions, different output levels, and a range of mounting options make CROSSIGN PRO a versatile safety sign and emergency luminaire for offices, retail environments, DIY stores, and industrial facilities.
CLEAN II supreme essential: A clean solution
In hospitals, laboratories, and cleanroom production areas, Zumtobel’s CLEAN II supreme family is the ideal solution for these specialised tasks. Developed for sterile environments, the range offers multiple mounting options, space-saving variants, fast and straightforward installation, and effortless maintenance. Combined with high efficiency, optimum lighting quality, and a choice of color temperatures, it delivers effective illumination for all visual tasks – pure light for cleanroom environments.
A key feature of CLEAN II supreme is the multi-layer micro-pyramidal optic MPO+. The light is refracted and guided in a controlled manner, so that even at steep beam angles it produces a pleasant, uniform distribution. In addition, the CLEAN II supreme essential variant with backlight technology enables maintenance and installation without removing the light engine, providing direct access to all components as soon as the cover is removed.
VIVO II art: Precise presentation of artworks
For museums and galleries where artworks of any format need to be presented with precision, the VIVO II art spotlight family delivers high color fidelity and precise, glare-free illumination. The range includes accent and wall washer versions, as well as framers. The VIVO II framer turns light into a finely tuned
tool: with variable beam angles, it illuminates artworks precisely within their frame and readily adapts to changing exhibits. As a result, artworks appear clear and expressive for full emotional impact.
