IBasicDIM Wireless removes the complexity typically associated with lighting control. Luminaires only require a power connection, as all communication flows wirelessly through a robust Bluetooth® Low Energy mesh network. This decentralised structure ensures reliability by replicating system intelligence at every node, creating an autonomous, resilient and scalable ecosystem.
Commissioning and daily operation become remarkably simple thanks to the 4remote BT app, which provides intuitive access to all functions. Users can group luminaires, adjust brightness, fine‑tune colour temperature, and define scenes for different moments throughout the day. Even advanced features — such as presence‑based control, daylight‑dependent regulation or time‑driven automation — can be configured without any technical prerequisites.
A Slimline System Designed for Flexibility
The beauty of BasicDIM Wireless lies in its modularity. Luminaires with integrated wireless BC modules can be combined with wireless sensors, wall-mounted controls and the DALI gateway. This allows installations to grow organically as needs evolve.

The BasicDIM Wireless DALI Gateway enables a powerful connection to the LITECOM lighting management system. This integration brings wireless luminaires into the world of DALI‑based central control, unlocking new dimensions for larger installations or spaces where traditional wiring is difficult or costly.
Up to 64 luminaires per gateway can be controlled and monitored, including single‑battery emergency luminaires. This ensures consistent oversight and enhances safety standards across the building.
Performance and Scalability
A single BasicDIM Wireless network can contain up to 250 nodes with a clear line‑of‑sight coverage of up to 15 metres. Multiple networks can run in parallel within the same building, offering virtually unlimited scalability. Up to 30 sensors can interact within the same scene, ensuring precise environmental responsiveness.
Through the DALI gateway, sensor integration is equally comprehensive, with support for up to 80 DALI‑2 instances per gateway. Manual operation is available via EnOcean BLE switches, creating even greater usability options.

Which luminaires are compatible with basicDIM Wireless?
The basicDIM Wireless System is our innovative wireless solution for professional lighting control. It is harmoniously compatible with a variety of luminaires. An integrated wireless module with the "BC" label is required. This wireless lighting control is easy to identify and offers a little more flexibility. Just as suitable: luminaires with integrated sensors – whether for presence detection or daylight control – are designated as "PIRBC". The ZUMTOBEL product range already includes numerous BC models as standard, often featuring sensors for enhanced lighting management. We will be pleased to provide you with a detailed overview of compatible models.
How many wireless devices can be networked?
With basicDIM Wireless, up to 250 wireless nodes can be managed per network. And for even more options: networks can also be operated in parallel, in close proximity.
Is a basicDIM Wireless network secure?
Safety is our top priority. Every network is secured with login credentials (username and password) during installation. The integrated protection complies with the new safety standards, such as the UK PSTI Act.
Is the basicDIM Wireless very difficult to commission?
It is relatively simple to group fewer than ten luminaires and assign a control station. As soon as sensors are integrated, for example, we recommend that you make use of our service. We help with knowledge transfer and share the necessary knowledge with employees and those responsible.
